YOUR GOLF COURSES

YOUR GOLF COURSES

PGA WEST RESORT

PGA West has 4 outstanding golf courses you can play... Pete Dye Stadium Course, Pete Dye Mountain Course, Pete Dye Dunes Course and the Nicklaus Tournament Course. Tucked into the desert mountains, each course offers a unique and challenging golf experience.

Dye Stadium Course
When you think of PGA West, it's the Stadium Course that first comes to mind. It's rated one of the "Top 100 Courses to play" by GOLF Magazine and 4th toughest course in Golf Digest’s "Top 50 Toughest Courses in America". Stadium is the Host course for the PGA TOUR Q-School"Finals every other year.

Dye Mountain Course
The Mountain Course is nestled at the base of the picturesque Santa Rosa Mountains. This challenging course features pot bunkers and rock formations, as well as varying elevations of tee boxes and well-bunkered greens. The Mountain Course was named one of Golf Magazine’s Top 100 You Can Play. It has been the home to the World Cup, the PGA National Club Pro Championships and the California State Open.

Dye Dunes Course
The visual drama of the landscape and the sheer beauty of the desert showcase the Dunes Course, situated at the foot of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Pete Dye's design is a traditional Scottish approach to links golf. The Dunes Course is ranked among Golf Digest’s “Top 75 Resort Courses” in America, and was the site of the 1998 PGA TOUR Qualifying School.

Nicklaus Tournament Course
At 7,204 yards long, the course features not one, but two island greens. The course is the bi-annual host of the PGA TOUR’s final round of Q-School. A popular host course for the Bob Hope Desert Classic, the course's elevated tees, sunken fairways, blind shots and severely contoured and shaped greens challenge amateurs and professionals alike.

TORREY PINES NORTH & SOUTH

Torrey Pines is home to two 18-hole championship courses, the North and South courses, each offering its own challenges and views. Originally opened in 1957, both the South Course and North Course were designed by famous course architect William P. Bell and were completed by his son, William F. Bell.

While both the North and South courses test a golfer's skill with tight fairways, lush rough, trees, sand and bunkers, each course offers a unique golfing experience. On the South Course you can take in the fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean, just a hundred yards below you. Most other holes on the South offer sweeping views of a large natural canyon. On the North Course, be careful of several holes that sit directly on the bluffs, overlooking the magnificent coastline and Pacific Ocean.

The South Course was home to the 2008 and 2021 U.S. Open Championships.

AVIARA GOLF CLUB

Located on 250 lush acres in North San Diego at the Forbes Five Star resort, Aviara Golf Club is the only Arnold Palmer signature-designed coastal California golf course.

Named one of the best resort courses in America by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine, the 7,007-yard layout is an enjoyable challenge for players of all skill levels. Sculpted around rolling hillsides and overlooking the Batiquitos Lagoon nature preserve, it offers a unique blend of playability and drama. It is the second most popular course to play in San Diego, after Torrey Pines.

PEBBLE BEACH GOLF LINKS

Ranked #17 in Top 100 Golf Courses in the World

18 holes, 72 par, 6828 yards

Pebble Beach hosted its sixth U.S. Open in 2019, and its fifth U.S. Amateur in 2018. Pebble Beach has hosted a PGA TOUR event since 1947, rolling out its green-carpet fairways not just for the game’s best golfers, but also Hall-of-Fame athletes and Hollywood stars.

It has breathtaking beauty, hole number four tees off a stretch of seven stunning seaside holes perched atop dramatic cliffs, and Pebble Beach finishes with two of the most beautiful holes in all of golf. The course design and strategy is second to none and it  features some of the most famous par-3s (No. 7), par-4s (No. 8) and par-5s (No. 18) in golf and plenty of heroic shot-making opportunities.

SPYGLASS HILL GOLF CLUB

Ranked #84 in Top 100 Golf Courses in the World

18 holes, 72 par, 6960 yards

One of the most respected and revered courses in the world begins with one of the greatest opening stretches in golf: five spectacular sand-splashed holes that cruise up and down a sea of dunes while showcasing sublime oceanfront scenery and shots you’ve surely never seen.

But the defining characteristic of Spyglass Hill is how starkly the first five holes juxtapose the rest of the round. Incredible ocean views give way to the understated natural beauty of the Del Monte Forest, as the final 13 holes relentlessly examine your game with a litany of bunkers, ponds and uphill tests. Pine Valley-by-the-Sea meets Augusta National, as Sports Illustrated eloquently described it.

THE LINKS AT SPANISH BAY

18 holes, 72 par, 6821 yards

Meandering among the sweeping sand dunes along 17-Mile Drive, The Links at Spanish Bay unveils some of the most spectacular seaside views in Pebble Beach. The rolling fairways move through and around the dunescape, before returning to the white sand of Spanish Bay Beach for a thrilling finish along the coast.

The Links at Spanish Bay requires precision and patience while negotiating sand dunes, pot bunkers, challenging greens and an ocean breeze. Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Tom Watson and Sandy Tatum teamed up to artfully craft a distinctly Scottish look, blending green and golden hues against a spectacular beachside backdrop to produce a memorable experience unlike any other in Pebble Beach.

THE HAY PAR 3

9 holes, 27 par, 670 yards

The Hay has been a fixture at Pebble Beach since 1957, when famed Head Professional Peter Hay revolutionized the concept of a short course. Hay’s vision was to create a fun place where juniors, families, and friends, regardless of their ability, could gather around the game of golf.

In 2021, Tiger Woods amplified Hay’s vision in a way few could have imagined with his brilliant redesign of the property. The result is a course overflowing with fun, as well as holes designed to be played with any club in the bag, and an additional 20,000 square-foot putting course that sprawls 100 yards, yielding endless routings.

The Hay's second hole will likely be the highlight—the Pebble Beach and TGR team mapped out the iconic par-3 seventh hole at Pebble Beach and created an exact replica of it at the short course. The replica is even positioned in the same direction, meaning that anyone playing The Hay will play the hole in the same wind direction as its older brother.

PASATIEMPO GOLF CLUB

Ranked #56 in Top 100 Golf Courses in the USA

Pasatiempo was designed by world-renowned golf architect Alister MacKenzie. Even though MacKenzie also designed Augusta National and Cypress Point, Pasatiempo was his favorite layout and where he made his American home, which still borders the sixth fairway. Today, this historic top 100 course is a semi-private golf club that sets aside certain tee times each day for public play.

It is classic California golf, wildly undulating topography, fairways cut through Monterey pines and towering eucalyptus trees and views that run for miles out across the Pacific Ocean. Pasatiempo absolutely delivers a memorable golf experience; it is truly one of the finest championship golf courses in the world.

The course has hosted the Western Intercollegiate for the past 65 years which features the top college players in the world. Pasatiempo has hosted USGA Championships including the 1986 U.S. Women’s Amateur and the 2004 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur.

THINGS TO SEE & DO

THINGS TO SEE & DO

CARMEL

No exploration of California’s central coast is complete without a sojourn to Carmel-by-the-Sea, a town as well known for its shopping as it is for its most famous former civil servant, the Honorable Mayor Clint Eastwood.

This quaint amalgamation of art galleries, boutiques, hotels, shops, fine restaurants and whimsically styled homes evokes a storybook ambiance that can be appreciated by romantics of all ages.  It’s  no wonder why Travel + Leisure has named it as one of the "World's Best Cities for Romance."

17-MILE DRIVE AT PEBBLE BEACH

Follow 17-Mile Drive’s red-dotted line to arrive at an enchanting world full of dramatic coastal cliffs, snow-white beaches, mystical forests and iconic golf courses. Discover one of the most scenic drives in the world as you meet the inspiring Lone Cypress, ponder the giant trees at Crocker Grove, digest the untouched beauty at Fanshell Beach, behold the power of the Restless Sea at Point Joe, stroll the boardwalk above the beach at Spanish Bay, and much, much more.

View a map and full points of interest description of 17 Mile Drive here.

FOLKTALE WINERY & VINEYARD

Nestled in the valley just 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, Folktale Winery & Vineyards is conveniently accessible from the Monterey Peninsula. Folktale is a one-of-a-kind winery destination, resting on 15 acres of organically farmed vineyards and gardens along the Carmel River.

Daily tasting hours run into the early evening, and individual glasses and bottles are available, as well as flights of Folktale and reserve wines from single vineyards.

There is a restaurant that serves seasonally inspired small plates, salads, and cheese or charcuterie boards. Tours include visits to the vineyards, cellar, and barrel room.

BIG SUR

Welcome to one of the world’s most unforgettable stretches of coastline. Big Sur's roughly 90-mile-long stretch of redwood- and fog-trimmed waterfront between Carmel-by-the-Sea and Hearst Castle draws you (and writers like Henry Miller and Beat Generation darling Jack Kerouac) in with a magic allure that is almost palpable. This is, quite simply, a place you want to be—bluffs, sea, and sky... The most beautiful and awe inspiring coastline in the world.

The classic drive through Big Sur, along twisting Highway 1, offers plenty of pullovers at places like seen-it-in-a-million-car-commercials Bixby Bridge. Stop at parks along the coastline and look up to see endangered California condors, North America’s largest birds, or look down to scan the swells for migrating whales or sea otters floating among dense beds of kelp, California’s signature seaweed.

The region’s beauty also makes it a magnet for exclusive, splurge-worthy hotels like the cliff-hugging Post Ranch Inn or luxurious Ventana Big Sur.

SAN DIEGO ZOO

The San Diego Zoo is widely recognized as one of the best, if not the best, zoos in the entire world. It houses more than 3.500 animals of  more than 800 species.

The San Diego Zoo was a pioneer in the concept of open-air, cageless exhibits that re-create natural animal habitats. It is one of the few zoos in the world that houses, and successfully bred the giant panda. In 2013, the zoo added a new Australian Outback exhibit, providing an updated Australian animal experience. Another new exhibit, called Africa Rocks, opened in 2017.

With over 4 million visitors, San Diego Zoo is the most visited zoo in the United States.

THE SPA AT PEBBLE BEACH

The Spa at Pebble Beach is one of only 90 spas in the world to receive the coveted Forbes Five-Star Award.

The Spa incorporate the healing properties of plants, herbs and minerals indigenous to California’s Monterey Peninsula into many of it's specialty spa treatments.

The treatments offered are relaxing, wonderful and varied and include 5 different types of massages, multiple flotation wraps, pre and post golf therapy and stretches, foot massages, over a dozen different types of facials, multiple hair care options and a half dozen nail treatments.

Spend an hour or a whole day here, there's plenty of room to rest and relax before or after your treatments.

A CLIENTS PERSPECTIVE...

Good morning Dave,

Pebble Beach was absolutely amazing! Watching the Pro-Am on TV every year, it of course looks great, but to actually see it and play it is indescribable... surprisingly playable for an amateur. I came home and re-watched this years' AT&T tourney just to relive the course again. I will be able to watch the tourney on TV from a different perspective now than those who haven't played there yet.

I loved Poppy Hills and Pasatiempo was the hardest and most challenging course I've ever played.

Thank you so much for setting up one of the most memorable experiences my father-in-law and I could share. You had it set up perfectly and everything ran smoothly.

I will definitely recommend you and already have to friends. After playing Pebble Beach, I one day want to play it again. I've checked it off the Bucket List but now it's on to St Andrews and I know who to call to make that happen!

Dave, thanks for everything, you did a wonderful job!

Sincerely,

Trevor Meadahl
